Experiences
Our Tasting Room is located off the beaten path; a welcome respite from the well-traveled Seneca Lake wine route. It provides breathtaking views and an opportunity to contemplate wine in a quiet, natural setting. Our knowledgeable, professional staff and expressive wines ensure a memorable experience.
Tastings by appointment during January & February. Request an off-season tasting appointment here. May through October, we’re open Thursday through Monday from 11am to 5pm. April and November, we’re open Friday through Sunday from 12 to 5pm. March and December, we’re open Friday and Saturday from 12 to 5pm.
Due to limited space, our maximum group size is six. Please book on-line (see button at lower right) or call 607-582-6116 for availability.
Our narrow gravel driveway and small parking lot do not allow for large vehicles such as stretch limousines, buses and RVs. Dogs are not allowed inside the building, but leashed pets may accompany you in the front yard. We thank you in advance for respecting our policies.

Walk Ins
Silver Thread is a very small winery with limited space for tastings. If you arrive without a reservation, we may be able to seat you for a Premium Wine Tasting if space allows. Weather permitting, walk-ins can enjoy a glass of wine or mini-flight in our Outdoor Lounge, which offers lake and vineyard views.
Getting Here
From NYS Route 414, winery signs will lead you to Caywood Road. About 1/4 mile down, the paved road turns to a privately-maintained gravel road. Enjoy the expansive views of the lake and the Doyle Family’s massive Chardonnay vineyard as you approach Silver Thread. Follow the signs along the gravel road about 3/4 of a mile. Our vineyard begins just after you cross a rustic cattle bridge over a ravine (don’t worry–the bridge is supported by two very strong concrete pilings and several steel I-beams). The road is narrow, but there is ample room to pull off to the side if you should encounter an oncoming vehicle. Please respect our neighbors by obeying the 5 mph posted speed limit.

What to Expect when Visiting: 2022
Our team is committed to providing outstanding hospitality in a safe and welcoming environment. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have enacted the following policies and procedures (updated March 4, 2022).
Reserved wine tastings are served in well-ventilated indoor spaces equipped with HEPA air filters, or in covered outdoor spaces. Tables are spaced at least six feet apart. Our winery staff is fully vaccinated and boosted. Pursuant with current New York State guidelines, face coverings are optional for staff and guests. We respect the right of guests to mask or not mask, depending on their personal risk assessment and comfort level.
Maximum group size is 6 people. Children and non-tasting adults may accompany tasters, however they are counted toward the maximum group size of 6 and should be mentioned in the “special requests” section of your booking.
Pets are not permitted in the reserved tasting areas. Leashed pets are welcome in the Outdoor Lounge (the front yard of the winery) where we serve tastings for walk-ins. Seating in this area is first-come/first-served and weather permitting.
