What is Riesling Expert?

January 10, 2026–Riesling Expert is more than just a class, it’s an experience and a community! Be prepared to have your horizons expanded and your mind blown as we guide you through the class wines each session. Are you looking for a fun and entertaining evening? Do you want an excuse to pretend you’re in college again and take copious technical notes? Do you think you DON’T like Riesling? We’ve got you covered! We welcome all experience levels and promise to field questions from the most basic to the most complex. While it is by far the most fun to participate in the live class, sessions are recorded, so you can watch later.

Silver Thread owner-winemakers Paul and Shannon Brock have hosted Riesling Expert since 2020. It began as a way to help people stay socially connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has grown into a beloved annual tradition that Silver Thread fans eagerly anticipate each winter. This year’s edition is a two-part series scheduled for 1/31 and 2/6/26. Hundreds of Riesling Experts have participated over the years, and it means a lot to many people. How do we know?
