This recipe comes courtesy of Valerie DeLong, asst. cheesemaker at Lively Run Dairy.  She always pairs these cookies with Blackbird.  It makes a delicious treat for the busy Thanksgiving chef.

Blackbird Cookies

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup unsalted butter

3/4 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

2 eggs

1 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

pinch salt

1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup walnuts-chopped

1 cup dried cranberries

Cream together sugars, eggs, butter and vanilla.  Add in cocoa, flour, baking soda and salt.  Mix.  Lastly, add cranberries, walnuts and chocolate chips.  Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.
