May is Riesling Month at Silver Thread
April 28, 2014—To celebrate the release of its six new 2013 Riesling wines, Silver Thread Vineyard will feature several special promotions during the month of May at its Tasting Room:
1.) The “Riesling Experience” tasting flight allows a guest to compare and contrast the winery’s highly-rated vineyard-designated Rieslings. These wines are made at Silver Thread from grapes sourced from Seneca, Cayuga and Keuka Lakes. Available any time at the tasting room.
2.) “Saturday Vineyard Tour and Tasting Experience” will take place each Saturday at 11am beginning May 10. Join one of Silver Thread’s owner/winemakers for a tour of the vineyard and wine cellar, followed by a private, flight-style tasting of the winery’s six estate-grown wines. Limited to 8 guests and available by reservation only.
3.) “Single-Vineyard Riesling 4-Pack,” a sampler pack of the winery’s four vineyard-designated wines, will be available for 15% off regular price. Guests are encouraged to re-create the Riesling Experience tasting at home by purchasing one of each of the winery’s limited-edition Rieslings.
4.) A limited amount of Riesling STV Estate Vineyard 2013 has been bottled in 1.5L magnum bottles, which are perfect for aging in a wine cellar for 5-10 years. Wine collectors will be excited at the chance to purchase wine in this large format bottle, which are hand-numbered.
5.) Semi-dry Riesling 2012, which earned many accolades in competition and from wine critics, will be on a vintage close-out sale—2 bottles for $30 (17% off)—during the month of May.
“Once again in 2013, growing conditions allowed us to create fascinating Rieslings that tell a story about the different sites within our region,” said owner/winemaker Paul Brock. “In my many years of winemaking in the Finger Lakes, I have never experienced such a wide range of flavors between vineyards as in 2013. People really need to get out and taste these wines for themselves.”
