Happy Finger Lakes Wine Month!
August is Finger Lakes Wine Month!
Every August, the Finger Lakes wine trails and wine marketing/tourism agencies get together to promote Finger Lakes Wine Month. The goal is to draw attention to the Finger Lakes as a premium wine-making region and to encourage folks to explore the area… and to, of course, taste the wines!
This year, we’re excited to offer three Premium Flights at $15 each in the Silver Thread tasting room.
Our popular Riesling Experience Flight will feature all 2023 vintages of the following wines: our best-selling Dry Riesling as well as our three, limited single vineyard Rieslings. The single vineyard Rieslings include our critically-acclaimed Estate Riesling, the vibrant Doyle Fournier Vineyard Riesling (made from grapes planted in the mid 1970s), and the unique Gridley Bluff Point Vineyard Riesling (made from grapes grown at a high-elevation Keuka Lake site). We’re pairing Muranda’s Lady of the Lake cheese with these wines, which is a slightly salty blend of Gouda and Parmesan.
The Wine & Chocolate Tasting is a more seasonal flight; one we typically only offer from June through October. This year, it includes three wines and three fun, artisanal chocolates. We’re pairing the 2023 Dry Riesling with a lemony white chocolate mixed with shortbread pieces, the 2023 Semi-dry Riesling (which received 90 points from Wine Enthusiast, btw) with a spiced dark chocolate mixed with candied ginger and coconut, and the NEW 2022 Good Earth Red (100% Lemberger!) with a bittersweet chocolate that contains dried cherries and almonds.
Our third Premium Flight will be offered *this month only*: the Good Earth Flight! This comparative flight features two side-by-side tastings of our popular Good Earth blends. Compare 2022 Good Earth White to the 2023 Good Earth White (a Double Gold Medal winner at the 2024 FLIWC) and the 2021 Good Earth Red to the 2022 Good Earth Red. We’re really excited to be able to offer folks this mini, vertical pairing. To make it even better, we’re pairing it with Muranda’s Red Buddy cheese!
Reservations are encouraged but not required, especially for groups of four to six people. We hope to see you in August!
