Refresh and renew your love of Riesling with our crash course; the Riesling Expert Renewal! Since 2020, Silver Thread co-owners, Shannon and Paul Brock, have led the successful online series known as Riesling Expert. This fun class is great for anyone who loves Riesling, no matter your level of expertise! Shannon and Paul will guide you through topics like style, farming, micro-climates, and more. Learn what makes the Finger Lakes’ signature grape such a special one. We’ll be sampling four wines in this class: Silver Thread 2023 Rieslings–Dry, Estate, and Semi-dry, and one non-Silver Thread wine (your choice).  Maybe you have a Riesling from one of our neighbors, or maybe you have a special German or Austrian bottle you’d like a reason to open. Join us for a delicious showdown as Riesling and Sparkling Wine from Finger Lakes go head-to-head with European benchmark wines! When: Sunday, April 13th, 2025 from 1-2:30pm Where: the Silver Thread Winegarden (9564 NY-414, Lodi) Cost: $50 per person   We look forward to hosting wine enthusiasts for a cross-Atlantic wine pairing hosted by sommelier Laura Winter Falk and Silver Thread co-owner Shannon Brock. Registrants will compare two Silver Thread wines – a Riesling and Blanc de Blancs – alongside an Austrian Riesling and a Champagne. We’ll be pairing these wines with small plates from our curated menu of European snacks made with local ingredients. This 90-minutes experience will be a fantastic way to compare similar methods of wine-making, and Laura and Shannon will be on-hand to answer all of your “geeky” wine questions!
