Celebrate Silver Thread!

Toward the end of every summer, we gather together to celebrate another year of Silver Thread. 2022 marks 11 years since Shannon and Paul purchased this esteemed estate from its’ founder, Richard, and we’re honoring both the business and our commitment to it all month long.

Our annual Anniversary Dinner will be held on Friday, August 26th at Dano’s Heuriger on Seneca. This intimate, family-style dinner has already sold out, and we’re looking forward to trying several Silver Thread wines – both old and new! – with our friends and guests that evening.

This year however, we are also featuring a month-long Anniversary Flight in the Tasting Room. As part of our Premium Tasting Menu, this limited flight features two current wines as well as two library wines! Our 2021 Dry Riesling and 2020 Blackbird are accompanied by two 2016 wines: a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir.

The Chardonnay is light and beautiful. An elegant representation of the Silver Thread estate, it kicks off this four-wine flight, and is followed up by our award-winning Dry Riesling. The Pinot Noir is a truly beautiful vintage. At six years old, this wine still has bright red fruit aromas, and makes a great companion to the smooth Blackbird meritage blend at the end of the flight. We’re offering it paired with the Red Buddy cheddar & swiss blend from Muranda. Both library wines are available to purchase, though they are low in stock and limited per customer.

This flight represents the three original varieties grown and produced here on the Silver Thread estate – Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Noir – as well as what has become our most well-known blend; Blackbird. We’re excited to offer it to you this month only, to celebrate our history as well as Finger Lakes Wine Month.

We accommodate walk-ins whenever we can, but we are definitely seeing an increase in foot traffic. With that in mind, reservations are encouraged!
