Silver Thread Vineyard wins 2023 Sustainability Award

March 28, 2023– Silver Thread Owner-Winemakers Paul and Shannon Brock were presented the 2023 Sustainability Award from the New York Wine & Grape Foundation! Based on nominations from other members of the NY wine industry, the Unity Awards recognize leadership and achievement. They are presented each year at the BEV NY conference, which was held this year in Syracuse March 28-30. The Sustainability Award recognizes an organization or winery that has exemplified sustainable practices. In addition to their longtime commitment to sustainability, Silver Thread has played a key role in the development of the new New York Sustainable Winegrowing certification program.

“We’re honored to be recognized by our peers in this way,” Shannon said. “Sustainability has been a focus here at Silver Thread since it was founded in the 1980s. We are happy that our efforts can be a model for others trying to be more environmentally friendly and community-focused.”
