2022 Harvest Check-Ins

The 2022 harvest has been quite a journey! After several months of near-drought conditions, it started to rain. And rain. And rain. But despite the unpredictable weather, we are really looking forward to what the 2022 vintages will be like!

“We had a very warm, dry summer so the berries are a little smaller,” said Paul. “I see a lot of varietal characteristics coming through, and I’m really excited about that. All the fruit is beautiful… I just wish there was more!”

“I’m very excited about the Gewurztraminer this year,” said Bruce, our assistant winemaker/vineyard manager. “The fruit came in very beautiful so I’m looking forward to seeing how that turns out.”

We’re about halfway through harvest right now. Most of our estate-grown grapes have been picked and are busily fermenting. We will be bringing in Cabernet Sauvignon next week probably, and are expecting a few more tons of grapes from one or two of our local grower partners, including more Riesling from the Doyle Fournier vineyard.

We’ve enjoyed sharing these harvest updates with you over the last few weeks. If you’ve missed them through the Facebook live posts, they are still available there – but can also be viewed on our Vimeo page!
